 At Clown-So-Port our mission is simple; because each clown is uniquely different than any other, we feel their performing shoes should be too.  That is why we custom-make each pair by hand, one pair at a time, to your exact specifications.  Many shoes have added accessories based on the customer’s needs.  Names, bows and kilties are all accessories to the shoes that are available for additional costs.   Below are some most frequently asked questions.  If you have additional questions, please feel free to call us or email us at the clown shoe factory. 

Q. What is the normal clown shoe length?
A. Measuring from the back of the heel to the tip of the sole - -Men's is 15 inches and women's clown shoe are 14 inches.

Q. What is the width of the toe area on your clown shoes?
A. The normal width is 7 inches.  This can be made smaller or larger.  For minor changes there is not a pattern change charge.

Q. How high is the bubble top?
A. The normal height is about 2 inches.  We can modify the height to your liking with an up-charge of $25.00 per each additional 1/2 inch.

Q. Can you really make the shoes in less than 21 working days?  Others say months!
A. Yes, normally is takes less than 21 working days.  Our operation is set up to make custom shoes.

Q. What if the shoes don't fit?
A. Unless you have your name added to the shoe or a special pattern, we will replace the shoes until they fit and feel comfortable.  We guarantee the fit of our shoes.

Q. Do your really make all the shoes for Ronald McDonald?
A. Yes, these are clowns that are on their feet, all day long, all year long.  They want the fit and feel comfortable in their shoes.  We have been making all their shoes since 1994!

Q. Do you make shoes for other characters and special events?
A. Yes, we have made shoes for movies like "Eddie" (shoes for a horse!), the movie "Fat Albert", character shoes for Kentucky Fried Chicken, Snap, Crackle and Pop and Charlie Chaplin.

Q. What is the difference between a high top clown shoe and a low top?
A. The high top is a boot style, about 6 1/2" from the top of the heel to the top of the shoe and the low top is about 4 inches.

Q. Can I trust Clown-So-Port?
A. Yes, Clown-So-Port is a company that is part of Foot-So-Port Shoe Corporation that was started in 1927. Both companies are the same owners.

Q. Are there any hidden cost beyond what you advertise?
A. No. The price listed is the price of the shoes--shipping and handling would be an extra charge.  Sales tax may have to also be added.

Q. Can the length be changed?
A. Yes, men's can be shortened one inch.  Women's can be shortened two inches if the foot size is 9 or smaller.  They can also be longer than the stated averages but a pattern charge will be applied to the order.  These are calculated on an individual basis.

Q. Is there a cost for leather color changes?
A. No, providing it is a color that we own or have in stock.

Q. Do the outsoles/soles wear well?
A. Yes,  The material used in the soles is the same material used in our high quality Foot-So-Port walking shoes.  The are a very long lasting sole and can be replaced if the shoes are not too worn down. 

Q. Do you have a "Lollipop" or a "Canoe" shaped shoe?
A. We have the right and left lollipop shape.  A canoe shape is a special order.

Q. Is there shipping & handling charge?
A. Yes, there is a shipping and handling charge of $12.00 for all shoes shipped within the USA.  We ship by UPS, USPS, FedEx and DHL.  We can ship all over the world and we suggest that you get a quote for shipping overnight or to a location outside the USA.

Q. What is the charge for a bow to be added?
A. The cost will vary from $15.00-25.00, depending on the type of bow.

Q. Do you stock any clown shoes?
A. Yes,  we have over 200 pairs of clown shoes in stock, all different colors and sizes.

Q. What about the people that sells the clown shoe that "one size fits all"?

A.  If you use the clown shoes once or twice a year, this may be for you.  If you are serious about clowning, you want to own a pair of shoes that will be comfortable to wear and last several years.  Can you imagine if you wear a men's 10 Medium, how your fit would be in the shoe that houses a 14 wide.  A little sloppy! 

Q. What is a shoe tag?
A. A shoe tag is an all leather item that attaches to your laces in your regular clown shoes.  This adds a special touch to your shoes.
